Sunday Open Table
Every Sunday morning, our church's doors open at 6:30 a.m. to welcome 60-100 of our neighbors in for a fresh-cooked breakfast. Most of our guests are from Santa Rosa's street community. We start with hot coffee, oatmeal, and cereals. A full hot homemade breakfast is served buffet-style at 7:00. As our guests finish breakfast they are offered a brown-bag lunch to take away for later in the day. We also offer warm clothing, socks, shoes, hats and hygiene items as available.
We do not just offer food. We sit and drink coffee and get to know our guests. We recognize them as our siblings in Christ. We also promote other services that are available in the community.
The program is entirely run by volunteers; the church provides the facility and some funding. Volunteers involved in this ministry have gained personal insight into hunger and homelessness in our community and have been overwhelmed by the graciousness of our guests.
There are many ways to participate in this ministry, regularly or occasionally. Many don’t require getting up before sunrise on Sunday! You can be a shopper for food and supplies, help prepare food on Saturday mornings in our kitchen, help clean up after breakfast, donate money, lead a song on Sunday, help fundraise, write thank you notes to donors, and help sort clothing.

Meeting Schedule: Volunteers are scheduled to work as they are available. The core planning team meets periodically, as needed.
