Advent and Christmas Services, 2024
For to us a child is born. (Isaiah 9:6)
Two thousand years ago, God came to us as a child. Today we prepare once again to greet that child: Jesus Christ, God with us.
Join us as we celebrate this holy season.
First Sunday of Advent: December 1, 8:00 and 10:15 a.m.
Join us at 8:00 and 10:15 here at church, or at 10:15 online.
Following the 10:15 service we'll celebrate our parish Advent Festival, with a potluck lunch followed by songs, storytelling, and activities including wreath- and candle-making, cookie decorating, and ornament painting. RSVP here if you're able by November 25, but if you haven't RSVP'd, don't hesitate to just drop in.
Second Sunday of Advent: December 8, 8:00 and 10:15 a.m.
Join us at 8:00 and 10:15 here at church, or at 10:15 online.
Third Sunday of Advent: December 15, 8:00 and 10:15 a.m.
Join us at 8:00 and 10:15 here at church, or at 10:15 online. Following the 10:15 service we'll have our rehearsal for our children's Christmas Eve pageant. Kids of all ages (and their grown-ups) are welcome. You can sign up to participate in the pageant here.
Fourth Sunday of Advent: December 22, 8:00 and 10:15 a.m.
PLUS 4:00 p.m. Festival of Lessons and Carols
On Sunday morning, December 22, join us at 8:00 and 10:15 here at church, or at 10:15 online. Later on, join us for our Festival of Lessons and Carols at 4:00 p.m. This beloved service has been celebrated annually at King's College in Cambridge, England, since 1918, and has spread throughout the world. Our Parish Choir and Children's Choirs will lead us in this, our first Incarnation celebration of this special holiday tradition.
Christmas Eve: Tuesday, December 24
4:00 p.m.: Holy Eucharist with Children's Pageant
Our first service of Christmas Eve features our children's Christmas pageant, plus carols, candlelight, and Holy Communion. All are welcome. Nursery care is not available for this service.
7:30 p.m.: Choral Prelude; 8:00 p.m.: Holy Eucharist
Our later Communion service is filled with scripture, song, candlelight, and prayer. Our Parish Choir and our Director of Music Jun Kim will offer a musical prelude before the service begins. Incense will be used at this liturgy. This service will also be livestreamed. Nursery care is not available for this service.
Christmas Day: Wednesday, December 25, 10:15 a.m.
Join us for this morning gathering in the church with carols and Communion. Nursery care is not available for this service.
The Sundays after Christmas: December 29 and January 5, 8:00 and 10:15 a.m.
Christmas isn't just a day--it's a twelve-day season! On the Sundays in Christmas Season we continue our celebration of Christ's birth among us with carols, scriptures, prayers, and Holy Communion.
The Epiphany: Monday, January 6, 2024, 6:00 p.m.
"Star of wonder, star of light ..." The Feast of the Epiphany celebrates the visit of the Magi, sages from the East, to the newborn Jesus. This event marks the beginning of the unfolding of the good news of Jesus to the world. Join us here in Farlander Hall for a special Dinner Eucharist for this holy night. We'll begin with a brief time of prayer around a fire in the quadrangle (so dress to be outdoors for a few minutes), then move into Farlander for a parish supper with the celebration of Holy Communion woven in, sharing the Eucharist together at table. There will be singing, fun, and perhaps a few surprises. All are welcome.
The Sunday after the Epiphany (The Baptism of Christ):
January 12, 2025, 8:00 and 10:15 a.m.
The Sunday after the Epiphany commemorates Jesus' baptism in the Jordan River. It is one of the days when the Church celebrates baptism or the renewal of baptismal vows. Join us for Sunday services at 8:00 and 10:15 here at church, or at 10:15 online. Incense will be used at the 10:15 service.
