Why I Pledge
I did not grow up in a church community. But over the years I have explored many denominations and found that the Episcopal Church has the best balance between tradition and today. We recite the Lord’s Prayer each Sunday with millions of others around the globe and have done so for centuries. And each Sunday we accept the renewing grace of the Eucharist, which is available to everyone here and now in this sacred space. Being here has helped me grow so I pledge to the Church of the Incarnation.
I pledge my financial support because the leadership looks to the future. Just look at the Generational Plan! This community has imagined big plans and explored great ideas. I like the focus on increasing our presence in the community and appreciate the dedication of everyone who participated in the Imagine process.
I pledge because young people are here, and because it is important to encourage faith early in life. Jesus found me at a Vacation Bible Camp when I was seven years old, and I am grateful to the church that hosted the camp. We need to continue the programs and events that welcome families and connect them with the Gospel and this community.
I pledge my time to the ministries here because I see the effort we make to help others. Getting to know the Open Table team and our Open Table neighbors is satisfying, because my life experience gives me some understanding of the tragedies and choices that can put anyone on the edge of society. It is good to feed 80 people on a Sunday and offer clothing and essentials. I hope to help expand our ministries in this area.
On behalf of the Pledge Committee, I am asking you to make a pledge to support this church community. If you have already pledged, thank you.
And one last thing; make a promise not to underestimate the power of your faithful giving.
