Wednesday, August 14 Plein Air
Cezanne’s Le Pons de Trois-Sautets, 1906, watercolor, 40cm x 60cm,
The Incarnation Plein Air group will meet on a weekly basis this summer on Wednesdays. The time may be variable in order to stay ahead of the heat. 8/14, we will meet at the entrance of Howarth Park 630 Summerfield Road, Lake Ralphine Marina, from 2:30-5:30 pm. Tracey Rolandelli will lead a discussion on Kandinsky's "Concerning the Spiritual in Art". Although a classic in the area of theological aesthetics, it is not an easy read. It is available as an e-book through the Sonoma County Library and the internet archive: http://www.archive.org/details/onspiritualinart00kand.
A hard copy is also available through Amazon. Please read “Painting V: The Effect of Color ”, pp. 39-43, for the afternoon discussion. It will be sunny, 85-83º, so please bring water, sun protection, a snack if you wish, and your art supplies. We will discuss further readings and schedule at that time. All skill levels welcome. Hope to see as many of you as can make it. To receive Plein-Aire Group information, please contact Susan Prier, [email protected] or call/text, 707-710-5794.
