Sunday, November 5: All Saints' Sunday
On Sunday, November 5, we will celebrate All Saints' Sunday. Our liturgy will feature many special traditions, including the Prayer Wheel hanging from the ceiling with the opportunity to add the names of those who are departed, the Renewal of Baptismal Vows, and (at 10:15) the use of incense and the procession of saint figurines.
One of the most powerful traditions in Latin America is La Ofrenda, a special table for small mementoes (like photographs) of those we love and see no longer. La Ofrenda acknowledges that the souls of the faithful departed are in the hands of God and our love and relationships with them continue. Please join us as we remember those who have gone before us. You can leave pictures and mementoes of your loved ones. (Please no original photographs or irreplaceable items, as we can't guarantee that items won't go missing.) Bring your items on Sunday, November 5 and place them on the altar in the Marian Chapel. La Ofrenda will be up until the first Sunday in Advent, December 3, when you can pick up your mementoes.
