Sunday, May 19: The Day of Pentecost
The Day of Pentecost is the fiftieth and final day of the Easter Season and marks the gift of the Holy Spirit to Jesus's first followers--and to us. On this day the risen Jesus sent the Spirit as "tongues of flame" to empower them to go forth and spread the good news of God's love to all people, all nations, all languages.
This Pentecost we will celebrate the renewal of baptismal vows at the 8:00 service and two baptisms at the 10:15 service. Incense will be used at 10:15.
All are invited to dress in something red to celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit!
