Stations of the Cross: Friday at 6:00 p.m.
We have one more Friday evening celebrations of the Stations of the Cross this Lent:
Friday, March 31, 6:00 p.m.: Soldier's Way of the Cross (in English)
This special meditation on Jesus’ journey to the cross from the viewpoint of a Roman soldier is a complement to the traditional Stations of the Cross, written and narrated by our parishioner David Jasper. The fourteen Stations as carved by the artist Elwin Millerick include a figure of the same Roman soldier in 10 of the scenes, making him an intimate member of the tableaux. The sculptures of Jesus artfully express his suffering on that day. What might be the thoughts behind the stoic face of the soldier’s sculptures?
We will also be celebrating the Stations of the Cross at noon on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of Holy Week (April 3-5) and on Good Friday (April 7).
