Saturday, September 28, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Open Table Volunteer Appreciation & Information Meeting

Every Sunday morning (for the past 13 years!), while the downtown neighborhood still sleeps, volunteers are busy preparing and serving a hearty home-cooked breakfast in Farlander Hall for 60-80 adults from our unsheltered community. In addition to breakfast and a sack lunch, guests learn about other local services, and enjoy fellowship and friendship with each other, and with our parish volunteers. The program is entirely run by volunteers who plan menus, shop, prepare and serve food on Sundays; it’s funded almost entirely by donations.
We’ll meet on Saturday, September 28, to honor our volunteers, brainstorm ideas for the future, and enjoy a catered lunch. All parishioners are invited, especially if you’d like to learn more about the important and satisfying ministry and how you might be of service. More than 20 volunteers are needed each week to make this happen, but only a few jobs require “early-bird” service.
Our leadership team is always looking for volunteers for even very occasional service, and we invite you to consider involvement in this incredibly rewarding experience of neighbors helping neighbors. For information, contact Allan Bolchazy, [email protected], (707) 312-3778. RSVP to Carolyn Greene, [email protected], (805) 443-7289.
Hope you’ll join us September 28!
