Saturday, October 26, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.: Helping Without Hurting Seminar - Farlander Hall
Presented by the Redwood Gospel Mission
How can we best serve our neighbors in material need? Sometimes our attempts to help people in poverty can end up perpetuating cycles of harm. But there are ways to help that are mutually respectful and life-giving.
On Saturday, October 26, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Incarnation will host a special seminar created by the Chalmers Center for Economic Development, “Helping Without Hurting,” presented by our friends from the Redwood Gospel Mission. Participants will learn what churches can do to move toward a more effective, asset-based development in working with the materially poor, at home and abroad. For full session details, see the seminar flyer.
This seminar is especially recommended for Open Table volunteers and others who feel a call to serve those on the economic margins. It's offered free of charge to participants and includes materials and lunch provided by the Redwood Gospel Catering Company. To RSVP, please click the link below.
