Organ Scholar Program Now Open for Ages 6-17!

Registration for the Organ Scholar Program at the Church of the Incarnation is now open! Organ group lessons will be held on Tuesdays starting November 19th with the following times:
- 3:30pm - 4:30pm Beginner
- 5:00pm - 6:00pm Intermediate
- 6:30pm - 7:30pm Advanced
Details:
The program is open to all Youths (ages 6 to 17) interested in learning music and organ playing. Membership at the Church of the Incarnation is not required to participate in the program. There's no tuition, however, students are responsible for purchasing music books and Organ shoes.
How to apply:
Send email to Jun Kim, Director of Music at [email protected] with youth(s) name and age, guardian's contact information (email/phone), and brief description about the candidate's musical background. Admission to the program is on a rolling basis, however, early registration is highly recommended.
About the program:
Scholars will be placed in the appropriate skills level: Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced. Classes are held at the Church of the Incarnation, 550 Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95401. Classes are held in a "group" setting with the maximum of 4 students per level.
Beginner Level Scholars will be offered:
- Instructions on Keyboard skills and Organ
- Music Theory training
- Possible performance opportunities at worship services / concerts
Intermediate level Scholars will be offered:
- Instructions on Organ playing / registration / hymn playing
- Unsupervised assigned practice times on organ
- Music Theory training
- Voice coaching
- Performance & Hymn accompanying opportunities at worship services / concerts
Advanced Level Scholars will be offered:
- Coaching on Organ playing / registration / hymn playing / Accompaniment
- Unsupervised assigned practice times on organ
- Music Theory training
- Voice coaching
- Coaching on conducting
- Performance opportunities at worship services / concerts
- Lessons in Church Liturgy
- Music history
