Maui Fires Donations
During the first week following the Maui fires, we quickly issued a pair of checks from our own Disaster Relief Fund for $6,000 total:$3,000 to St. John’s Episcopal Church in Kula, and $3,000 to the Hawaii Diocese in support of the parishioners of the destroyed Holy Innocents Church in Lahaina. Then on Sunday morning, August 13th, we gathered collections during our Offertory of $1,264.This past week we’ve collected an additional $1,150, for a total of $2,414.We are also aware that donations far exceeding $1,000 have been made by our parishioners directly to the Hawaii Diocese. We all know well the difficult times ahead for the fire survivors. Our donations, when pooled with support from our Diocese, our Nation, and across the world, may help lighten the burden of Maui’s heartbroken community.
Thank you for your generosity.
