Mark Your Calendars: Imagine Incarnation Phase 2 Workshops This Fall

Sunday, October 1, 2023, 12:00-2:00 p.m.: Workshop 1: Refining Our Wants and Needs

This two-hour workshop (following Sunday service and a casual lunch) will provide an opportunity to discuss a range of potential uses for Incarnation’s property and their implications for our stated purpose, and to evaluate how our values might be further enabled and expressed through enhanced outdoor spaces and new or renovated structures on our campus. We will also undertake exercises to define how we can objectively evaluate future campus plans, or what we are calling Alternative Futures, for consistency with our stated goals and dreams for Incarnation.

Saturday, November 18, 2023, 9:00 am-12:00 pm: Workshop 2: Exploring Alternative Futures

This three-hour workshop will be an exciting moment in the process. Based on the input from the Phase 1 Congregational Conversations and October’s Workshop 1, the Planning Team will return to discuss Alternative Futures for our campus. At this workshop we will review a range of uses and alternative site layouts that better support our day-to-day operations and more effectively fulfill our mission and goals for service.

Using the criteria initiated during Workshop 1, we will also evaluate the proposed Alternatives and discuss their pros and cons, so that the Planning Team hears directly from the congregation about which solutions align most closely with our goals. It is important to note that we will NOT be “picking a solution” at this workshop. Instead we will be exploring options to understand which future outcomes resonate most with our congregation. Based on that exercise, the Planning Team will begin to synthesize Alternatives into a preferred direction for further evaluation and discussion in early 2024.

We need as many members of our congregation as possible to participate. We believe we hear God's voice best in community. The Holy Spirit works through our collective discernment. Please mark these dates and plan to be part of these two exciting and important events!
