Last Week: Rogation Sunday
It was a beautiful day last Sunday, May 5, as we celebrated Rogation Sunday with a procession around our church grounds and stations at our new children's garden, our mighty oak tree, and our Resurrection Garden.
Thanks are due to Deacon Phina Borgeson who assembled the prayer texts for our Rogation procession from several sources. Most important of these was our children themselves, who supplied the language and imagery for the following prayer:
We give thanks for all the things that grow in gardens,
for carrots, celery, cucumbers and tomatoes,
for apples, pears, oranges, and strawberries,
for potato bugs, black widow spiders,
worms, salamanders, and birds,
for sunflowers and all the blossoms.
We pray that our garden will be a peaceful place which the whole community may enjoy.
