Incarnation Plein Air group
Cezanne’s Le Pons de Trois-Sautets, 1906, watercolor, 40cm x 60cm,
The Incarnation Plein-Aire group has agreed to meet on a weekly basis this summer on Wednesdays. The time may be variable in order to stay ahead of the heat.
This week, 7/24, we will meet at Luther Burbank Home and Garden, from 9:30-11:30am and from 2:00-5:30 pm. We will meet at the Live Oak Tree and then move to the Bike Path along Santa Rosa Creek Trail. You are welcome to attend either or both sessions. Lunch break from 11:30-2:00. Google map for Luther Burbank HERE.
Tracey Rolandelli will lead a discussion on Kandinsky's "Concerning the Spiritual in Art". Although considered a classic in the area of theological aesthetics, it is not an easy read. The book is available online as an e-book through the Sonoma County Library and the internet archive: http://www.archive.org/details/onspiritualinart00kand. A hard copy is also available through Amazon. Please read “The Movement”, pp. 15-20, for the afternoon discussion. Be prepared to take some time to read as well as reflect.
It will be sunny and hot, 50-95º, so please bring water, sun protection, a lunch if you wish, and your art supplies. We can discuss further readings and schedule at that time. Hope to see as many of you as can make it.
If you would like to receive Plein-Aire Group information, please contact Susan Prier, [email protected] or call or text, 707-710-5794.
