Green Team Note: The Will and the Way
Holy God, earth and air and water are your creation, and every living thing belongs to you: have mercy on us as climate change confronts us. Give us the will and the courage to simplify the way we live, to reduce the energy we use, to share the resources you provide, and to bear the cost of change. Amen

There are so many ways to REDUCE REFUSE and lighten the load of landfill that is a continuing problem in our efforts to care for the Earth. Zero Waste Sonoma (zerowastesonoma@gov) has information on what to do with all manner of materials you are done with — from paint, medications, and motor oil to electronics, fluorescent lamps, and mattresses that you are done with. Drop-off locations for many different things are listed, as well as special collection days (see below).
All that and more are found in the organization's Zero Waste Guide, which I picked up at the Earth Day event at Courthouse Square last month and can be downloaded at zerowastesonoma.gov . The guides also has tips on little things we can do each day to steward the earth and information on compostable plastic products (which are not great choices after all) and refillables propane cylinders for your grill (which are). Check it out!
