From Your Summer Supply Priest
The liberation of slaves is a central part of our Christian story beginning with Moses leading the Hebrew people out of Egypt and culminating with our liberation from the chains of our sins in the Passion of Jesus. Liberation is also at the root of Christian witness and ministry to all people who have been pushed to the margins of society and subject to abuses. Hence, we join with our black brothers and sisters in celebrating Juneteenth and with our Native American communities in acknowledging their history with the land we occupy and with the LGBTQ+ communities in celebrating Pride Month.
