Friday, February 7: Black History Month Music Workshop with Benjamin Mertz
Our Becoming Beloved Community ministry team invites us to save the date for an exciting special opportunity. On Friday, February 7, Incarnation will host "How We Got Over: The Music that Saved Black America," an experiential Black History workshop with songleader and educator Benjamin Mertz.
Benjamin Mertz previously served as music director at our neighbor parish, St. Stephen's in Sebastopol, and still directs the Joyful Noise Gospel Singers which rehearse there. He is an activist for racial justice and human rights, now based primarily in Richmond.
The event will begin with an experiential musical workshop for up to 30 participants from 2:00-5:00 p.m., followed by a community sing open to the public at 7:00 p.m. Registration for the workshop is $50; a $10 donation is suggested for the community sing. Register below:
