EDNC Refugee Resettlement Ministry

News Release: February 5, 2025 Refugees in Northern California face urgent need for funds:
President Trump has suspended the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program indefinitely, and the federal government has directed refugee resettlement agencies to halt their activities and has cut off their funding. These agencies assist newly arrived refugees with payments for rent, food, clothes, furnishings, and help them get settled (school, transportation, English lessons, etc.). Every refugee resettlement agency urgently needs help right now. For example, World Relief (Sacramento) has 116 families (464 refugees) receiving resettlement services which it now cannot fund or staff. To help World Relief (Sacramento), Click Here. For information about other resettlement agencies, contact the Diocese’s Refugee Resettlement Team leader, Bob Wohlsen, at [email protected].
