Becoming Beloved Community invites you to consider these activities for Hispanic Heritage Month
Becoming Beloved Community is a ministry team at Incarnation that works toward racial reconciliation, healing, and justice, following the Episcopal Church's Beloved Community vision as articulated by our Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. As a team, we work to create opportunities for our congregation to build beloved community through relationships with our neighbors, hearing their stories and lived experiences in Sonoma County. We work through through books, field trips, special events, and building relationships. Our goal is to pursue wholeness and kindness individually and collectively. We strive to understand for the sake of the flourishing of the greater whole and for the end of all forms of domination and oppression that diminish the children of God.
As we celebrate the close of our national Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15) and look ahead to Día de Muertos (Nov. 2), our Becoming Beloved Community team has put together a list of recommended books, videos, and community events celebrating Latin American communities. We've also included a book recommendation looking ahead to Native American Heritage Month in November.
