An Update from Our Postulant
Maggie Rutherford, a member of Incarnation, began the discernment process two years ago for ordination to the priesthood. Last year she took a new position as Director Intern/Program Director at Camp Galilee, the camp and conference center of the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada on Lake Tahoe. Bishop Megan recently named Maggie a postulant for holy orders, one of the formal steps along the way to being ordained. Maggie wrote us this month with an update:
Dear Incarnation,
Greetings from Lake Tahoe! Over the past year I have been busy getting the lay of the land at Camp Galilee and providing programs for all ages from summer camp, a women’s retreat, and an upcoming Body, Mind, and Soul retreat. I have been involved with a local parish, St. Patrick’s in Incline Village, where I am occasionally a guest preacher and am frequently recruited to acolyte.
As of December, I am officially a postulant for Holy Orders and just submitted applications to seminary. I should hear back from schools mid-March and then will start school in the fall.
I am thinking of you all and hope you are well!
Peace, Maggie
